The Fine Cotton Spinners and Doublers Association Limited had the objective of promoting the interests of cotton spinners in North West England. It was founded through the efforts of Herbert Dixon and Scott Lings in 1897.
It was designed as a double mill by Stott, in 1904. The first mill was built then and the second mill in 1915. It worked as a mule spinning mill. It was taken over by Fine Spinners and Doublers in the 1950s. It was partly destroyed by fire in 2016 prompting its .

Old Mill, completed in 1798 as part of Murrays'' Mills, is the oldest surviving cotton mill in Manchester, England. Sited on the Rochdale Canal in Ancoats, it was powered by a Boulton and Watt steam engine, and its narrow sixstorey brick structure "came to typify the Manchester cotton mill".
